Ahmadinejad implicated in embassy siege

Times Online - A photo has emerged which it is claimed links the President-elect of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, with the taking of 60 American hostages during the US embassy siege in Tehran in 1979.
A London-based Iranian news agency which opposes Mr Ahmadinejad is circulating the photograph, which it says was taken by the Associated Press news agency on the first day of the hostage crisis.
In the picture, a man which the Iran Focus agency claims it has identified as Mr Ahmadinejad, is seen holding the arm of a blindfolded US hostage.
Damned if he did, damned if he didn’t. Obviously it is clear the he was part of the organization that was behind the hostage taking, but the photo in question is poor evidence that he had such a prominent role. In fact it could be anyone on the photo. Can’t blame the "news agency" for trying though. And people will most likely believe it is him, all Iranians look alike after all, or so says cultural bias. So they both have black hair and a beard, gosh, it must be the same guy. That is a pretty dirty trick. And it will be a great way for America to rally against Iran.
Now, I too hope Ahmadinejad was not directly linked to the hostage situation, or responsible for the same, mainly because of how peculiar the scenario played out. I’m referring to how the hostages just happened to be released on the day of President Reagan’s inauguration. The so called October Surprise.
