The real Jack Abramoff

Kurt Nimmo and Juan Cole pick the latest Washington scandal apart, and come up with some pretty noteworthy conclusions regarding the Abramoff-Zionist connection. Indeed, “most Americans are blissfully unaware of the true nature of these crimes, as they are unaware of the obvious fact the “war” in Iraq was waged in the name of Israel, a small outlaw nation where people who think and act like Jack Abramoff are the rule and not the exception.”

Wikipedia notes that he

had, apparently, diverted “money meant for inner-city kids” to Jews living in Judea and Samaria, (called the West Bank) in order to help them “fight the Palestinian intifada.” Investigators believe that more than $140,000 of Capital Athletic Foundation funds were actually used for “purchases of camouflage suits, sniper scopes, night-vision binoculars, a thermal imager and other material described in foundation records as ’security’ equipment.“[34] The Hill reported that it was revealed in US Senate Indian Affairs Committee hearings that the Capital Athletic Foundation “also paid a monthly stipend and Jeep payments to a high-school friend of Abramoff who conducted sniper workshops for members of the Israeli Defense Force in Israel & the West Bank [sic Judea and Samaria].”[35] The “high-school friend” is, apparently, “Abramoff’s connection” to the Jewish settlement in Judea of Beitar Illit, “Schmuel Ben-Zvi, an American emigre who, the lobbyist told associates, was an old friend he knew from Los Angeles.”[36] However, “the Israeli army does not need shooting lessons from [Ben-Zvi]. The sniper lessons were for the colonists, practice for shooting Palestinians [sic Arabs].

One can only hope that this will cost the Israel-lobby some of its most prominent representatives and beneficiaries in Washington. But I wouldn’t hold my breath on that slim hope alone. Because as Nimmo et al note, for the public, this is either an issue of another sleazeball or simply a good reason to attack conservatives (as if Clinton didn’t bend over backwards to aid Israel).

For an extra kick, check out Abramoff’s not so well known South African connection. As a member of the International Freedom Foundation, a Washington think-tank that acted as a front for and was financed by the SA government, in the heydays of Apartheid no less. One should also remember the Israel-South Africa connection in this context.
