House Poised to Grant Arrest Powers to CIA, NSA

According to the FAS the 2007 intelligence authorization bill could very well give the CIA and NSA powers otherwise reserved for U.S. domestic law enforcement. Intelligence? Well, that mission never really existed and was in fact a cover for secret wars and political assassinations. With the slow erosion of the Posse Comitatus Act, the constant trickling of ex-military into law enforcement, and the rise of private “security” firms, it would truly seem as if the chickens are coming home to roost, and that Americans may soon find themselves on the receiving end of what they usually inflict on other states.
America in recent years has accelerated towards a state of affairs that can be described as nothing but militarism (wikipedia) with the seductive, fearful power it holds. While beginning somewhere around the Spanish-American war, the armament and constant foreign interventions of recent years as well as the very real decline of hegemony and the close collaboration with another militarized state, namely Israel, has spun the phenomenon out of control.
(Wikipedia) Militarists hold the view that security is the highest social priority, and claim that the development and maintenance of the military ensures that security. Militarism connotes the drive to expand military culture and ideals to areas outside of the military structure — most notably in areas of private business, government policy, education, and entertainment.
Militarism is ideologically rooted in or related to concepts of alarmism, expansionism, extremism, imperialism, loyalism, nationalism, patriotism, protectionism, supremacy and triumphalism.
