— Revision 2

I’ve decided to switch off commenting for the time being. I finally got fed up with looking after and rebutting the cretins who frequent this journal. Not to mention pretending to care about input from other people. I’ve spent far too much time on this and even though it has sometimes provoked me to great achievements it has also robbed me of a lot of free time. The overall impression has been overwhelmingly negative.

Silent Nation currently lacks a clear mission statement. So until there is something to see here, please visit my personal website at battleangel.org.

— Revision 1

I may eventually end up writing something quite dazzling here. In the meantime, the opinions presented in the journal can speak for themselves. Lets make a few things abundantly clear though. This site and the opinions expressed here are unabashedly “anti-American”. Opinions are also essentially non-partisan, even if it is difficult to see from a US perspective. Then again the “US perspective” is the entire problem. At the end of the day I don’t care a whit who holds executive power. To focus on party politics would only obfuscate the real issue of America’s role in the world. Especially since US political parties are virtually devoid of ideological substance and have each proven themselves capable of the most heinous of crimes throughout history. I would concede that there is a strategic difference between parties but if anything that only makes the Democratic party more dangerous because of its ability to pass as sensible internationalists. Economic imperialists as Chalmers Johnson would call them (as opposed to militaristic imperialists). All of that is of course just window dressing. In a way, warmongers are a blessing because they create divides where there doesn’t have to be any and they do the work for us. And though the price that the poor and disenfranchised have to pay in terms of blood is disheartening we salute them for it. The often unwitting rebels of the third world fight not only for their freedom but ours as well. Whether we realize it or not.

Of course, now and again we all fall prey to our idealistic tendencies, finding hopeful political candidates and visionaries. We all want to believe in change and redemption, but that optimism is usually short-lived.

America as a nation reminds me a lot of the highly hypocritical issue of nuclear weapons (which is apt since the US has a lot of them). As with nuclear weapons, it doesn’t really matter who has his or her finger on the trigger. Contrary to popular opinion, weapons really do kill. And so does the United States. The cold, selfish malice that is the United States can be seen as self-perpetuating and as such the puppets themselves could very well be inconsequential. Of course, the only practical solution to this bleak view would be to run the country through a proverbial meat grinder and start entirely anew, tabula rasa.

Using charged terms like “anti-American” or “empire” may not be productive, entirely accurate or even fair. But it does get the message across. And if there is something I’ve found it is that Americans need to have things spelt out in big letters. Only after understanding the uniform hate of America can Americans start down the path of asking why.

It has been a long year. The author is currently biding his time. Lets just say the journal is on a prolonged and much needed vacation. In the meantime you can be sure that I’m watching you all. I guess that at some point I will get so angry that I will in fact have to write something.
